This unique auction on the island of Tholen is for people of all ages. In the spring and summer months, every Wednesday morning and afternoon, you can sit on the original benches of the auction hall and press the auction clock to get a low price for the regional rural products on the wish list.
The only Dutch auction building
In the Netherlands, auctions have been held at a discount since 1887. In this way, the potato auction only takes place in Sint-Annaland on the island of Tholen. Here, every week, merchants still buy these local products at a discount.
Tasty regional products and much more
Every week, producers and suppliers from Tholen and the province of Zeeland provide fresh and delicious seasonal vegetables, e.g. potatoes, strawberries, cherries, apples and other vegetables and fruits. In addition to eggs, mustard, mussel sauce, liquorice, chocolate, biscuits and “Zeeuwse Babbelaars” (= delicious cream sweets) and flowers, specialities are also offered and auctioned off by the auctioneer.

Opening hours 2023
The auction is open to visitors in July and August on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
